Founder and History

Dimitrios Zourkos - Founder

Dimitrios moved to Portland Oregon in 2013 from Bellingham Washington where he immediately began a new and fresh career in Intellectual and developmental disabilities.

He began his journey as a Direct Support Professional (caregiver) and immediately feel in love with the clientele.  It was during his time as a caregiver that he knew this line of work is what he wanted to dedicate his life and skills to.  Quickly, Dimitrios was promoted to an Assistant Residential Manager, Residential Manager, and then a Clinical Behavior Specialist.

In 2015 Dimitrios joined Parents for Alternate Support Solutions as their new Program Manager where he was entrusted to salvage and redirect an agency that was severely in need of a new direction and fresh ideas.  Within his first year, he was promoted to Executive Director and under his administration saw a surge in clientele, staffing retention and a strong and positive shift in company reputation.

During the COVID-19 Pandemic crisis, Dimitrios became blatantly aware of the growing need and decreasing supports for individuals in our line of work.  This urged Dimitrios to take a risk and form his own agency where he can continue serving those he is passionate about.

Dimitrios Zourkos Is also very involved in local government and his community.  He holds several appointed and elected positions in the city of Gresham.  He currently serves as a Board member on the Gresham Redevelopment advisory committee to the City Council as well as a former Vice-Chair of the Budget Committee.  He is also a member of the Board of Directors for his Neighborhood association where he passionately tackles day to day issues for that impact people in his community.

Dimitrios looks forward to building long lasting relationships with community members and providing compassionate and trusting care to people in the developmental disabilities world.

Cheers to a new chapter!
