Steven Burton - Board

Steven is an Oregon native, living here for his entire life. He has mostly lived in Portland however has also had the experience of living in many of the local surrounding areas. He started his medical career working at a residential company for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. It is here that he had his first experience with this community and quickly knew that he wanted to be an advocate for these people. Working with adolescence and seniors he has seen a very wide array of people and has always maintained a healthy and professional relationship with everyone he supports. He is currently working on becoming an ER Nurse!

In his off-time Steven enjoys playing with his dog, Cooper, watching a good scary movie, learning about fitness and nutrition, and spending quality time with loved ones. We’re very lucky to have him on the Board and look forward to growing a relationship with him and the people we support.






 

Danielle Schomber - Secretary/Treasurer

Danielle was born in Milwaukie, Oregon and has spent her days there until moving to Canby earlier this year. Graduating from Milwaukie high school in 2010 and going to school for medical assisting a couple years after. Currently she works at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Orthopedics and really enjoys it. It has always been her dream to work with kids. Danielle enjoys going to the gym, the beach, playing pool and spending time with her friends, family and her boyfriend Michael. She has always wanted to give back to the community in a way that would help the youth and disabled.





 

Amanda Kelley - Board

Amanda was born in Milwaukie, Oregon and grew up in Estacada. After graduating from Estacada High School, she attended Clackamas Community College and earned her Medical Assistant Certification and an Associates Degree in General Studies. She maintained a GPA of 4.0, which landed her a spot on the Honor Roll. While earning her degree and certificate, Amanda worked at a residential home for people who have developmental disabilities. During this time she realized her passion for supporting individuals to live their highest quality of life and give back to her community. She continues to make a positive impact as a Medical Assistant at Doernbechers Childrens Hospital.

In her free time Amanda enjoys going to the gym, hiking, camping, spending quality time with friends and family and occasionally indulging in a crumbl cookie. 

 


Chris Goessler - BSN, RN, CEN - Interim Board

Chris is a registered nurse and currently works at the Portland VA Emergency Department as a Nurse Educator and a Staff Nurse. Chris has been a Registered Nurse for 3 years and received his degree from Oregon Health and Science University. Chris has worked with both the Oregon Nursing Board and the Oregon Nursing Research and Quality Improvement Consortium on improving nurse retention and nurse onboarding processes. His passions in nursing include: programmatic and systematic improvement, research, and community access to care modification.

Prior to nursing, Chris worked at Alternative Services, INC. for five years both as a Direct Support Professional and Home Manager. Chris gained a passion for supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He worked in both vocational and home-care settings and was passionate about encouraging and advocating for his customer's access to community outings.

 

Ellie Mangum - Board

Ellie Mangum is a finance professional and nonprofit leader with a passion for community service. A Gresham, Oregon native, she graduated summa cum laude from Portland State University with a degree in Business Administration, a minor in Civic Leadership, and a certificate in Social Innovation.

As an Accounts Receivable Manager at OCHIN Inc., Ellie leads financial operations, strengthens member relationships, and drives process improvements. She is also the founder and Executive Director of Food for Families Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to fighting food insecurity. Under her leadership, the organization has served over 13,000 families and distributed more than 525,000 pounds of food.

Outside of work and volunteerism, Ellie loves to travel, craft, and embrace her inner Swiftie as a dedicated Taylor Swift fan. Whether exploring new places or singing along to her favorite songs, she brings passion and enthusiasm to everything she does.
